A New Chapter for UNA-Africa: Advancing Sustainable Development and Gender Equity Across the Continent
More about A New Chapter for UNA-Africa: Advancing Sustainable Development and Gender Equity Across the Continent
I am honored to step into the role of Executive Secretary of UNA-Africa, committed to driving impactful initiatives across the continent. This position offers a unique opportunity to address urgent challenges, especially in health, gender equality, and youth empowerment.
One core focus will be improving health outcomes for women, particularly in reducing maternal mortality rates, which remain a critical issue in many African countries. By working with local governments and healthcare organizations, UNA-Africa aims to create safer birth environments and improve access to essential healthcare services.
Equally important is our dedication to advancing STEM education for girls. Empowering young women in science, technology, engineering, and math is vital for Africa’s sustainable development, fostering innovation and preparing future leaders. My vision is to expand UNA-Africa's initiatives that support STEM programs for girls, ensuring they have access to quality education and opportunities in these high-impact fields.
As Executive Secretary, I look forward to strengthening UNA-Africa’s collaborative efforts and building a resilient future where women’s health and education are prioritized. Together, we can create lasting progress for Africa’s women and youth. Thank you for joining me on this transformative journey
