Addressing Critical Youth Issues: My Lecture on Human Trafficking, Drug, and Sexual Abuse
More about Addressing Critical Youth Issues: My Lecture on Human Trafficking, Drug, and Sexual Abuse
I had the privilege of delivering a lecture at a workshop organized by the Mariam Yusuf Ashley Foundation in partnership with NAPTIP, addressing the critical issues of human trafficking, drug abuse, and sexual abuse. This workshop aimed to tackle the multidimensional vices ravaging today's youth.
In my lecture, I first highlighted the pervasive issue of human trafficking, discussing its devastating impact on young lives and communities. I emphasized the importance of awareness and education in preventing trafficking and shared resources available for victims seeking help.
Next, I addressed drug abuse, outlining its detrimental effects on both physical and mental health. I provided insights into preventive measures, rehabilitation options, and the importance of community support in overcoming addiction. I stressed that early intervention and a supportive environment are key to recovery.
Finally, I focused on sexual abuse, a deeply traumatic experience that affects countless youths. I discussed the significance of creating safe spaces for victims to speak out and seek help, as well as the crucial role of education in preventing abuse. I urged participants to become advocates for change, promoting respect and consent in their communities.
The workshop participants were highly engaged, showing a strong commitment to combating these issues. I am grateful to the Mariam Yusuf Ashley Foundation and NAPTIP for organizing this vital event and look forward to continuing our collective efforts to protect and empower our youth.
